Hayden Heights Library
WBABA & Greater East Side/District 2 Community Council has partnered with Friends of the Library, St Paul Public Libraries and the City of St Paul to do engagement for a remodel of our library.
On September 4, Mayor Carter announced that the funds have been fully secured for the remodel and work could begin in 2026.

New Owner to Hillcrest Center
Lessees at the center received word of the new owner on July 1st. We have reached out to set a meeting but have not had response as of 9/5. Looking forward to working with the owner on issues of garbage, pan handling and finding ways to improve center.
H-Line
Soon we will begin partnering with Metro Transit for the H-Line bus rapid transit that will continue the current #3 Como Maryland line down Maryland to White Bear and then South toward Sun Ray. For more information go to the Metro Transit website.
“Purple Line”
Purple Line is potentially back and looking for a name change. We will be working with Metro Transit to provide updates on the fka Purple Line. It is intended to follow Phalen Boulevard from downtown, east on Maryland to White Bear and then North toward Maplewood.
A New, Safer, Slower, White Bear Avenue??
In September, members of WBABA and district councils 1 (SECO) & 2 (GESCC), met with the Director of Ramsey County Public Works, City of St Paul Traffic engineers and elected officials to discuss what we can do to make WBA safer and traffic slower.
Funding has been secured to possibly begin studies and engagement in 2026. We will keep you posted on future engagement events.
